Buying a Notebook

Post by Konne »

Hello,
I wanted to buy a Notebook. Not a good one just one to Code a little on it.
I checked Dell and they only sell Computers with VISTA and to much MHZ.
I only want something that is working.

Like < 1Ghz
256 - 512 Mbyte Ram
and a Small Harddrive.
The graphics card can be onboard and the storage-battery doesn't need to be good or anything.
And maybe 15" Monitor.
OS should be XP or nothing (nothings better).

Does someone know where I can get such a Notebook?

Would be a great help if someone would know something..
Apart from that Mrs Lincoln, how was the show?

Toshiba has a wide range, and i find all of them in top-quality. Never had problems with them!

There's also always eBay, I sold such a laptop on there a year and a half ago with Windows XP Home pre-installed and activated (legally) for about $400. Today you'd probably get it for a lot less.

My suggestion is to visit acer and see:
http://global.acer.com/

After more than 1 year comparing to HP, Dell, fujitsu, Ahtec, Toshiba, etc, i saw Acer is the best quality/price ratio of all.

Another vote from me. For their prices, you sure get something worth it.

I'm very interesting in the latest SONY VGN-G118GN/B.
It is launched in Hong Kong last week.
It's battery last for 11 hours, VISTA and weights only 1.15kg

What I heard: not in the US.
The service is terrible because they don't have one, different contractors are doing the service and because of that the quality of service depends on where you live.
