But if I remember correctly, you cannot active two copies after a certain ammount of time.
What about having a problem with a PC at work. One of your users says:"fix my pc problem - it's your damn job!". You go and do that, buying a new pc, cause the other one was too old. Then it happens: you install and acitvate Vista, boot the PC, work for about an hour or two, and then the harddisk crashes. You where one of 1000, who bought a "monday-harddrive". It was damaged, when it left the company, where it was built. You go and buy a new one (or get a new one without any charge) and want to reinstall Vista. This wouldn't work, would it?

I can remember, struggling around on the phone with Microprofits Support, because of activating a XP-copy twice a day (because of such a problem with the harddisk) or just because the "testing machine" in the office was damaged and I had to reinstall it!

These are the reasons, why I switched to Linux. Freedom.
Linux is not better than windows in all aspects. Sometimes I miss some features or programs, but I prefer to "die on my feet, than live on my knees".

Yeah, freedom to buy a digicam or printer that won't work on a linux box. Forget it, will you? :)

Freedom to choose to not choose FTW!

Edit: That was not for a particular operating system.

I am a Linux user - just at work I must use Windows. And: before I buy any hardware, I check if it works with Linux.

bembulak, don't bother, it won't work, unless the hardware you buy is outdated...

Microsoft has submitted the source code of Windows to 'the power's that may be' here in Norway, and to the EU,
for that matter, so what's the big deal?

Microsoft simply is not the top dog anymore, so don't worry.

Corporations who purchase mass licenses have a different license, almost like XP.

We had 10 Windows Clients. No need for "mass licenses".
Had none ever been in that situation, I described? Strange, but ok.
