Ubuntu doesn't come with so many packages but installing new ones through synaptic is very easiy since MEPIS will be based on Ubuntu in the future it's probably not that different. But MEPIS uses KDE while Ubuntu unlinke Kubuntu uses GNOME. If you really want all Packages get Suse or install from a Knoppix LiveDVD but be aware taht both are a huge bloatware, they will take up several GB of Harddrive and I suspect that they only come with everything pr installed because installing new things is much more complicated as it is on Ubuntu or other Debian based systems, if I were you I would stay with MEPIS and use Synaptic to install everything needed

SynapticPackager uses internet, right? But I can't install my internet on linux because I use a VPN connection. I tried to install the VPNC client but it 's not working. I think I'll forget about Linux :? .

Unfortunately yes, that's the only way... What about emulating it? Is there anything faster that wmWare? I used it but it's damn slow. I'm running an AMD Family 1GHz, 384 MB RAM and a GeForce2 MX400 64Ram. I could use the bridged connection if there's the only way...

I'll try it and see how it works. Thanks for the help.
