Is it not quicker and easier just to use PureBasic 5.62 instead of 5.46 for him? That might solve everything. Send a him a 5.62-compiled version to see if it works.

Also, I'd ask him to test your app after booting his PC in Safe Mode, because if it works there, then something else on his PC is causing the problem, and it's not your job to work around it. I've done this a lot in the past for customers who complained that something wasn't working in my apps, and it usually turns out another app on their PC was conflicting with it. One example was an app that added the time, including seconds, to all titles bars of all windows. They thought my app was faulty because it couldn't find a window with a specific name. Of course not - the window name was changing every second! So I wasted a good week or two of my time trying to find a "bug" in my app that never even existed! :evil:
