Thats true !!

VB is at the same time a wonderfull toy and a infernal application ha ha

Most VB users has some kind of conflict on the feellings about VB and im not the exception to this rule.

VB offers so many features, so many functions, so many source code availeable in the net, so many, so many...

In the other hand its unestable (soooooooo unestable) and has a lot of problems (well knowed by everybody)

Even the VB IDE has MANY bugs that appears when you try to make a little complicated design (i have developed some huge applications in VB and i have nightmares).

Thats why talk about VB produces all this discussions... its not with PB the problem (he is a great developer), but the feelling with VB are very bad in all the world.

Just think that if VB dosen't has all this problems, there will be no need of another choices... but the reallity is different and thats why so many VB programmers (like me) are using PureBasic, PowerBasic, Rapid-Q, etc.

Personaly i hate VB (REALLY REALLY HATE IT!!!), but i like all the nice features it has... sounds crazy? This crazy feelling produces all the time crazy fellings when somebody mentions VB.

But all the recriminations must be directed to Mr. Gates not to PB !!!

VB is like my mother in law, i heat it but i can't get it away from my life ha ha

That's true. If I had known how bad Visual Basic was, along with the negative
stigma it has in the world, I never would have bought it. That's partly why I
wrote vis2pure too -- so I can convert my Visual Basic apps to a better language
and never use Visual Basic for coding again.

PB, you'd be proud of me. I bit the bullet last night and stopped doing things the hard way (just hope the neighbours don't talk) and used the VB editor to create a better form for the finder.

Looks a lot sexier now (unlike me)

PB, do you know of any IDE that can directly edit multi panel gadgets? Or is there a way of doing it with that VB editor that I don't know about?

Hmm, I don't. Well, the retail version of Visual Basic allows it, with its
SSTab control, but the free VB version doesn't have this control.

It's a tricky issue (panel gadgets). With vis2pure you could use a frame or
something to "hold the place" of a panel gadget before conversion, and after
conversion you just change the frame code to panel gadget code, so at least you
can get the positioning of it done.

Rest assurred that I'm trying very hard to get panel gadgets into vis2pure
as soon as possible, as well as menus!

Why the "groan" ? I never said vis2pure would convert panel gadgets from
Visual Basic... it's on the to-do list. The docs clearly say what vis2pure
can and can't currently handle. Or am I misunderstanding you?

Yes, you are misunderstanding me. I am groaning for my poor fingers for the sheer volume of visual design work I had to do manually BEFORE I tried Vis2Pure :):)
