Using PureBasic v5.62 (32-bit).

Tried to use RegularExpressionMatchPosition() but the IDE said:

IDE wrote:
ExamineRegularExpressionMatches() must be successfully called before using this command.

But this command isn't in the manual, and using it results in this error:

IDE wrote:
ExamineRegularExpressionMatches() is not a function, array, list, map or macro.

Example code that produces that message?

What it (really) meant is: ExamineRegularExpression()

Hi,

the example from the help works:
Code:
 If CreateRegularExpression(0, "[a-z]b[A-Z]")
If ExamineRegularExpression(0, "abC ABc zbA abc")
      While NextRegularExpressionMatch(0)
        Debug "Match: " + RegularExpressionMatchString(0)
        Debug "    Position: " + Str(RegularExpressionMatchPosition(0))
        Debug "    Length: " + Str(RegularExpressionMatchLength(0))
      Wend
    EndIf
  Else
    Debug RegularExpressionError()
  EndIf

The example in the help file works fine, but if you make a mistake the error is wrong:
Code:
 If CreateRegularExpression(0, "[a-z]b[A-Z]")
; I created expression but forgot to examineRegularExpression(0,"ABc")
    Debug RegularExpressionMatchPosition(0)
 EndIf

So the [ERROR] returned is for a function name that does not exist.

Norm.

Correct. That's the bug. :)
