Memu Play: Android emulator for PC

Post by Dude »

I've been playing with this for the past week, and it's fantastic:

Gameplay is silky-smooth! Basically it's an Android tablet on your PC. 100% freeware (no ads, etc). Endorsed by MajorGeeks (who test all their submissons), but I've had no issues (malware) with it. That's why I waited 7 days to tell you about it. :)

The irony of a bot's first post: telling me an app has a virus.

MajorGeeks has tested it: https://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/memu.html
And the VirusTotal results: https://www.virustotal.com/gui/file/540 ... /detection

And my own daily use has not raised any flags with Windows Defender. Seems safe to me.

Isn't there an official x86 64bit AOSP now? I haven't been watching it but all apps should work on that. .app files are just Dalvik and ART byte code and you should only have to build from repos with hardware blobs.

There is also http://www.android-x86.org/ which is maintained and Pie is about to be released.
The truth hurts.
