Does Linux have the equivalent of Window's SystemParametersInfo_(#SPI_GETWORKAREA, 0, @wa, 0)
.... or is it the case that there isn't a TaskBar or other OS panel taking up real estate?

I think is gdk_monitor_get_workarea() but i have not tried it.
