I remember reading an article in a UK paper in that time frame about how the grades of kids in UK schools were falling because of their reliance on Wikipedia and the misinformation contained in it.

Going on personal experience of reading the pages about friends, there is a lot of misinformation in Wikipedia. Trying to get things corrected is an exercise in futility as you can get something fixed and by the end of the day, the misinformation has been placed back in. Very weird beast. Still, very useful, but I am not throwing out my set of encyclopedias anytime soon.

There are a lot of bugs to fix, which were accrued over the last 3 months.
I do not hope that PureBasic will be neglected in the future...
You mean Fred took some time off over the holiday season? OMFG!

The more I read comments like this, the more I think Fred made a
mistake with SpiderBasic's announcement. :( Too much paranoia.

Would be cool. I guess OpenGL for cross-platform development? What's your roadmap? Any release date?

I'm really thinking about starting a own Ogre Wrapper or switching the Engine if possible, as it seems like they mainly focused on SpiderBasic now. It would be nice if someone of the Team could give some information about the future of PB.
I would not recommend using the 3D commands for any serious work. I firmly believe 3D should be removed from PB. Time is wasted on updating the 3D side when 3D users will simply never be happy. Anybody who truly wants to do 3D either writes their own engine, or uses an existing third-party engine. Yes, some commercial games have been made with Ogre, but they are not made with PB's implementation. I am anti-Ogre to begin with. If I were going to do a new 3D project (and I will do one more before I kick the bucket), I would not be using Ogre under any circumstance. Far better products out there.

Totally agreed. It's too much of a niche feature.

> 3D users will simply never be happy

So true. Also, advances are made to 3D libraries like Ogre
all the time, so the team is forever playing catch-up with
it. It's not worth the time and hassle. It's one part of the
language that should be culled.

ROFLMAO!!!

You guys are cracking me up!! I'm having a blast here!! :-D
Please, folks.. Keep it coming!

Everybody knows best. 'Everyone' wants to decide the fate of PB..
The egocentric self-importance are oozing through these posts.
I'm loving it!! Like a soap opera for retarded couch-potatoes.

Your ideas and directions for PB amounts exactly to.....NOTHING!

The silence of the PB masses are deafening, while the
minority shouts the loudest.

Lets hope, that Fred and the forum administrators will clean
the SpiderBasic announcement and this section up.

If new potential users are reading all your steaming crap, they'll be thinking
twice before buying PB or any other product for that matter.

But...For my personal entertainment...Please keep it up :-D

PB: See, they don't like it when you use their own logic against them.

DK_PETER, we're just musing out loud, as it's called.
Of course we know the team isn't going to do what
we say. Do you think we're stupid? We're just having
a discussion on what we feel. No product is immune
from its customers' discussion; it happens to all. :)

Yeppers, with Dkpeter and Alexi and others whining about SpiderBasic, we were just using some reverse psychology and watching them choke on their own logic.

Really Kuron...Is it working?
PB wrote:Do you think we're stupid?
Sorry dude...I won't comment on that without a lawyer present :-D

Just musing...uttering minor ideas and hints for improvements and so forth - is quite dandy...
But that's not what's going on here. Wether you're using reverse psychology or not - these posts went 'postal' two days after the announcement of SpiderBasic.

For the record, I wasn't using reverse psychology at all.
I was literally just agreeing to a post I saw about 3D,
and agreed that I think it's a niche/expendable feature.
I have no hidden agenda here or hatred for anyone.

I also know Fred won't remove it solely because of a
couple of users talking about it. Anyway, that is all.
Don't get me wrong, Paul, I do 100% mean what I said about the 3D. But, I only said it to make a point to the complainers that their logic (or lack thereof) can work both ways and be used against them. A true coder will never expect a tool to conform to his needs. He will choose a tool that meets his particular needs or he will write his own.

It comes down to this... If you do not like what Fred is doing, or the direction he is taking with his product(s), don't use them. Leave and find something else to use (tons of products out there) that meets your needs and is going in a direction that you like. It really is that simple and is a win-win situation for everybody.

Soooooo... Why not regroup all the 3D interested users, see how much they can/want to chip in and go see Fred with a proposal?
(that being said, I'm not interested in 3D, but mostly because I've no idea where to start)
