Cool! Thx!

just one LTS-question: Do I have to do a fresh installing or can I just overwrite the existing PB-LTS-Folder?

thx

I haven't really been keeping up like I should, I'm just wondering why the LTS was added to the PB name and what its about

LTS = Long Term Support

It means ALL known bugs get fixed within 2 years. After 2 years, the final LTS version should be stable.
In the meantime new non-LTS-versions (like 5.3x) with new features (and new bugs) can arrive.
No new features are added to LTS versions, just bug-fixes for 2 years.
LTS was introduced because commercial developers want/need some more stability and bug-fixes,
without new features and new bugs.

Ah ok.. That makes sense. Thanks.

Interestingly enough I noticed on the Wikipedia talk page someone said there is an edit war going on as to whether or not 5.21 is the latest version :|

Really guys?

New versions get announced in this forum, so PB 5.21 LTS is latest version.

EDIT:
PB 5.21 LTS announcment is missing from http://www.purebasic.com/news.php
Could be the reason for the discussion you mentioned.

Perhaps it is because of not adhering to the LTS. Instead of the patches being applied to the 5.20 LTS version, the patches were released in a new 5.21 version and now this is the new LTS version. Since the version number keeps changing, it is not a "traditional" LTS as most people are used to and it could be causing confusion for some people and hence the issue you mention. Haven't read the wikipedia page and don't plan to. People will complain about anything. As long as Fred keeps working to stabilize PB, I could care less what version number it is.
Best wishes to the PB community. Thank you for the memories. ♥️

Maybe so, but after how hard we fought to keep the page from being deleted, it seems rather unfortunate for it to fall into the typical Wiki tropes.

Wikipedia is an odd beast. You visit it because it often has good info, but at the same time you realize there is often no legitimacy or credibility to the info you are reading.

That was SpiderBasic. No big news for PureBasic coming.

[..] ..That's the big announcement we wanted to share with your early this year and wish you an Happy new Year 2014 :)

A study in 2005 found Wikipedia to be as reliable as Britannica.

For PureBasic: always. There were 3 updates last year, which is way
more than other competing Basics. Relax, PureBasic is here to stay.
I compile using 5.31 (x86) on Win 7 Ultimate (64-bit).

There are a lot of bugs to fix, which were accrued over the last 3 months.
I do not hope that PureBasic will be neglected in the future...
