"Surprise!" - yes, after a long time I have done a new interview with Fred. And this has become really huge (around 80 Q & A!), in which Fred tell us more about himself, but above all about the history, current situation and future development of PureBasic. I was able to elicit some things from him, which will be included in the forthcoming (as beta) version 5.10...

Thanks Enjoyed.
Totally surprised only 8,000 registered users for such a great programming language and forum support it should be (1F40*10) =
Zebuddi.

Fred--thanks for taking the time to answer Andre's excellent (and sometimes difficult) questions.

Excellent interview, thank you Andre and Fred.
Great to see that the PB devs look into LLVM.
If PB would emit LLVM-IR then the language would be on the radar of more programmers.
And with that - hopefully - bring more money to the dev team...
(besides all the compiled executable optimizations that come with it...)

So 8000 paid users (+ more pirated) at $79 euros = more than half a million euros! Not bad, dude!
And multi-line commands coming for the next release... FINALLY!

....huge interview Andre, I got through a whole cup of coffee reading it! Fred, you are very humble about PB, it's a truly great achievement, I would be very proud to have made a product that good. I liked PB from the moment I saw it and I wish I had found it sooner. Hope the whole PB team have a wonderful Christmas holiday.

Thanks Fred and Andre. Truly insightful.
And thank you Fred, for the upcoming Granted Wishes Release. The line-continuation feature alone will make it a very Merry Christmas, and an even Happier New Year!

Great interview Andre, now I know Fred better.
Bill Gates, has made billions, boy he must have been working 10,000 hours a day.
With the amount of time and effort Fred has put into PB, I am supprised he still has his hair, not to mention he also has to pay staff and a lot of other overheads too, work that out over 10 years, very modest return really.MachineCode wrote:So 8000 paid users (+ more pirated) at $79 euros = more than half a million euros!
