If anyone is interested in translating this, I (most likely) can set it up so that:
- it can be translated into multiple languages (if a translator speaks multiple languages they can both be done from the same page)
- many translators can work on it at the same time
- when it's ready it gets generated back into a PDF.

Using a combination of: a website to facilitate the translating [uses sitetranslator] (would need a sf.net project or someone willing to donate hosting + mysql database) and some PB processing to get it from the single html page Adobe Acrobat generates to the database and back to Adobe PDF again

Anyone interested?

Kale, am I allowed to take parts of it and integrate them with the Survival Guide? (Of course with proper markings and mentioning of the source.)

I don't see why not, as long as the license is followed. :)

Do you think this is fair to those people paid for in the past?

Those that paid in the past did so because they thought that the price (and product) met their needs, they got what they paid for.

I'm sure I'm not the only one to have the experience of paying for software that was later made free (including sources). I don't begrudge those results either because either way I got to use the software for the purpose I paid for it.

The product is currently not up-to-date. If it is able to be updated because of the license it is now under, everyone would benefit. This would also be in the best interest of those that previously paid for and used it.

Wow, very kind of you, Gary.

I bought it when it first came out, and I have no problems with it now being free. It is a very nice gift to the community. Programming books tend to have a short-life span and it is not uncommon for programming books from major publishers to be made free by the author after a couple of years.
