Re: InstallForge 1.2.9.2 Free Setup Creator

XOr,

Any luck with that issue? I still get it on my desktop and laptop with Win10 Build 10586.36, but my work laptop with the same build does not freeze up. IT runs OK on the home desktop and laptop until I open up my project file, then it just freezes up InstallForge, only thing I can do is end the task to close it out. The CPU process starts out at 0% when I first open it, but when I try to open my project file, the CPU jumps up to 9% and starts climbing up from there along with memory usage, usually tops out at about 20% CPU usage and 8MB memory. I've tried running in compatibility mode, etc, no change at all. I tried rebuilding my project file & it works once or twice then starts locking up InstallForge again. Even if I make a backup copy of the project file and try that, once the program locks up with the original file, the backup copy will lock it up too.

Posted this on the InstallForge site, but figured I would post it here as well just in case:

OK,

I figured out for me at least I can do the following and it works OK.

In the InstallForge folder (for me, c:\program files (x86)\solicus\installforge) I created a file called proj_licence.rtf and made the file read only (Right click and check read-only) and now Install Forge opens without freezing up and I can edit/build, etc without issue. Hopefully this helps someone else and will help in getting the issue fixed.

Hello InstallForge users,
we are pleased to announce the release of InstallForge 1.3 with several changes and new goodies. The most remarkable feature of the new release is the official support of the Windows 10 and Windows Server 2016 operating systems. We also added an option allowing you to disable the os-version check routine of your setup files.
When running on Windows versions newer than Windows Vista, setups created with InstallForge version 1.3 will display the current installation progress on the taskbar as illustrated in the screenshot below.

Hello InstallForge users,
I am pleased to announce the release of InstallForge 1.3.1 being more stable than ever before and less vulnerable to changes in your setup executable's resource files (icon files, manifest,...). This enables you to change the icons of your setup files using external tools like ResourceHacker without getting the well known "Setup Error! -f" message.
