Maybe not what you are looking for but you can do it with:

Code: Select all

PowerCfg /DEVICEQUERY Wake_From_Any
PowerCfg /DEVICEENABLEWAKE <Device_Name> ; Device_Name from DEVICEQUERY

I'm on Win 10 Pro. Maybe something in your Win 10 Power settings is stopping it? It definitely works on Win 10, as long as your PC is actually on sleep/standby before the code kicks in to wake it. It can fail if your PC is still going into sleep/standby before that code's timeout to wake.

Sleep mode doesn't work but hibernate does. It just doesn't wake up from hibernation. Hmm...

In cmd to test then you can use with RunProgram
But here in the example, it is to enable Wake from a Device, maybe it's not what you want!
The c4s code looks good

For Hibernate, check in the power options that the hard disk is not turned off otherwise it can't be wake up

Yeah, trying c4s code but no luck. Hard drive doesn't go to sleep when plugged in. Microsoft Surface Pro 7.

If it is an external drive, it will only go to sleep if the connecting device (ie: USB) accepts the Windows sleep signal. (See the properties in the 'Device Manager' panel 'Power Management')
