Compiled executable sizes..

Post by Karbon »

I'm posting a little invoice manager I've thrown together later today but first wanted to ask something.. I just compiled it and noticed the executable is over 500k - which is odd since it's really not very much code at all. I have another project that's easily 5 times as much code and it compiles down to 130kish..

I'm using the SQLite userlib and I imported the iSEDPDF lib and use it - could it be the PDF lib making this executable so big? The PDF DLL is 500k+.

I don't include anything into the binary either, so it's not an image..

Someone slap me with a clue stick!

While we're at it, why don't we try to crack your problem?!?
What files are you including (or not including) and how big are they?!
(I'm thinking PBI's etc)

Karbon:

The size of the executable also depends on the commands you use, not only
on size of your code. Some PB commands are internally really big (for
example the various ImagePlugins)

So, if you add in all Image de- and encoders, it will increase
the filesize by about 420Kb!
