AmigaOS 4.0 The Final Update available

Post by Flype »

No programming language is perfect. There is not even a single best language.
There are only languages well suited or perhaps poorly suited for particular purposes. Herbert Mayer

Yeah that's great news! :D

It's just a pity that PureBasic, even the newer open source version 4.00, still doesn't work at all on it.

Kind regards,

Francis

Hmm when Purebasic for MacOSX is out which will need to support PowerPC for the Universal binary stuff. Fred could do a recompile on Amiga and release the compiler only. (Don't know wether Amiga OS 4.0 is POSIX compilant if it is he could also recompile the CoreLibraries without a change I think)

yes, the only bad things is that it's actually not possible to get AmigaOS 4.0 is you don't have a new amiga hardware ... :'(

I tried to contact them many times about development for Amiga OS4.0 but did never get any answer from them.

If my understanding is correct, OS4 is eventually supposed to be made available for purchase as a standalone product so that users with suitably expanded classic Amigas (i.e. with PowerPC accelerators) could use OS4.

I don't know what the current state-of-play is regarding this.

Who did you actually try to contact regarding this?

Kind regards,

Francis.

I tried to contact directly Hyperion several times. No answer.
I did appreciate to receive an answer, even if it was a negative one, simply to say that my mails weren't simply throwned in the trashcan :'(
I already know these informations ;) @ AmigaWorld.net

Actually, @ Hyperion website, you can download SDK but as AmigaOS 4.0 is only available for AmigaONE buyer, I can't use the SDK to develop cos I can't test what I make ... so I wait ... I was also thinking that if they want beta tester, I can be one of these with my amiga 1200PPC BV ... :(
