I don't care for ememies i use which ever tool gets the job done the quickest and easiest! This so happens to be PB (mainly because it rocks!) I also agree with Fred and others that other decent languages put pressure (the good sort) on the authors to create good software. I just hate being ripped ...

Well I was answering the start of the thread why PB isn't going to die because of BlitzMax and I think I answered that very well, but I don't spend my time just dwelling on it.Hi-Toro wrote:Ah, gotta love it when guys turn up out of the blue criticising others for not working hard for their benefit.

Waste of time
My God DB sucks big time! I just recently let rip on the forum there, after buying the 'Pro' version on release, im still very dissatisfied with the so called upgrades. So i've burnt my copy  Still waiting for Fred to blow them out the water with PB's 3D! :D

Enemies overrated and unproductive
Yeah, it does baffle me a little when people pitch Blitz against PB; people who use both nearly always remark at how well they complement each other. Competition is good, but the two shouldn't be set 'against' each other. Dark Basic is the one true enemy! ;)

Re: Wish *I* had that info...
Excuse the rant...
Proforma, where are you getting your information about Blitz Max pricing? I'd be mighty interested, since I'm the Blitz support guy and even I don't know -- and neither does Mark yet, to the best of my knowledge. Are these real facts, or just some you've pulled out of your... um ...

Re: Counting on BlitzMax is a bad idea
If I was a blitz user I would be really upset right now.
Well, he had a lot of trouble with the guys how sold it... but if you make a bad contract so... and then his mother had cancer - I'll guess this affected his work...
Hmmm - updates of Blitz is nothing if you compare with Jamagic - THERE ...

Counting on BlitzMax is a bad idea
I wouldn't worry too much about BlitzMax if I were you.
BlitzMax was announced in 2001 and to be released in September 2002. Well its 2004 and he just got finished with 80 percent of the compiler alone (this currently supports Windows and Macintosh ONLY, yes thats right no Linux version yet).
