PureStorage
If you use PureStorage... you might have figured out by now that it is down. Looks like my web hosting partner has decided to part ways with our arrangement and did not tell me about it. I am looking for a new host but I doubt I will be able to run PureStorage as I could with my current dedicated ...

Thanks for the replys. The setup I want to benchmark is multiple Metro-E links between buildings. Some links are 100Mb and some are 1Gb. The ISP will make changes in their com gear and will effects our link speeds. The only way I know something has changed is when someone calls and says the system ...

Measure transfer rate?
I would like to create an app that would be able to measure the speed of a given network connection. I'm just not sure how to go about doing this accurately. I know Vista has something that shows the transfer speed if you copy a file. Something like that would be fine. Basically, I would like to ...

I watched the press conference and they (the two that found the body) seemed very serious and did not have the look of someone who has taken a joke to far. However, there are a lot of rumors going around here from local people who claim to know the guys and there are some discrepancies with their ...

I have been using Debian "Etch" for older machines and virtual PCs. I still like Ubuntu but it's hard to argue it is faster (or more stable) than a plain vanilla Debian install.

Yeah, I guess I should should say that I have been blocked by things that use DirectX. I don't do that much in the way of games, but I might fiddle with Grub and see if I can point it to my old Windows drive so I can still boot up in Windows. Google has a crazy virtual chat thingy that I would like ...

Full time Linux user now...
I had two machines here and lost one to a storm recently. One was running XP (quite well) and the other one was running Ubuntu Linux. I only used the Linux machine occasionally. After the Windows box died, I combined all the good stuff into one box and have been tweaking it out for a couple of weeks ...
