Zonealarm has always had a memory leak which just keeps slowing the machine down

Did you also end up getting a lot of crashes from dibeng.dll too ?
I've seen a couple of forums reporting ZoneAlarm as a common factor in those errors.

I get the same here, running AVG and ZoneAlarm and found the ...

I do have to ask this question though:

Why are so many of you convinced that PPC processors are faster, even though in every 3rd party* benchmark i've seen x86 PC's beat the crap out of Apple's G5's?

To be honest, I don't give a damn about which architecture is fastest. A computer is only a ...

Re: Jobs announced switching mac from powerpc to intel boxes

BUT!! They will not allow mac osx to run on non-apple machines. I think Jobs desire to sell hardware may be his undoing.

I dunno. One of the reasons I bought an iBook was because it was closed hardware, cos at the end of the day I knew it'd "just work".

If you look at the x86 market, there's ...

Either that, or Steve Jobs is quite stupid/mad... ;)

Is he stupid enough to announce to the world that in 12-18 months the Mac will be x86 powered, knowing by doing so he'll kill mac sales until then?

Yup, DoubleDutch is right, Jobs is madder than a Frenchman wearing underpants on his head ...

Then again, iTunes and the ipod make them more money than PPC hardware..

Where does it say it'll be an Intel x86 ?
Maybe Intel are setting up a PPC fab.

Heck, it might be for a non-mac product, a new ipod, PDA or whatever.

To be honest, the article is nothing more than CNet hyping up a rumour that's been coming and going the last few years.

Anyway, only a few hours to ...

In all it took about a month with about one and a half guys working on the job

What was the other 1/2 guy doing ?

Re: Cannot create a application package for my app

I've just spent the evening converting some stuff from Windows to the Mac version (nothing major, just reworking the GUI)
I did exactly the same as you, except I compiled with -e MyApp -s carbon
and it opens fine.

in relatively recent times there have been tons of security updates for OSX, at the same time as apples market share has been growing. This means one of 2 things

a- Apple started making crappier software recently
b- people have been targeting osx more as it has become more popular

now... as far ...
