Re: On newish hardware does DirectX sprite depth matter?

Works fine on a Asus eee 901. Intel Graphics Chipset, smooth scrolling.

Im new to PureBasic, any chance to see how your blitter loop compares to mine. Ive found balancing a game timer vs VSync and Purebasic's SetFrame function impossible. I seem to never always a smooth continuous consistency with ...

2D Engine Template

Ok, so, Ive spent all day researching and obsorbing as much information as I can on PureBasic. This is my first attempt at PureBasic :o , and I think Ive done alright, but found there to be a lack of clear/correct examples out there.

Ive aimed to develop a basic 32bpp 2D engine template that ...

Re: Roller Coaster Tycoon Engine

Theres just over 1k lines of code. A lot of it are tricks to try and get VB6 to execute instructions quicker.

For example, theres no Macro or inline function feature in vb6, so I have inlined a lot of functions to minimize procedure calling overhead.

I also do pixel pushing to draw lines for the ...

Re: Roller Coaster Tycoon Engine

btw, this engine primarily demonstrates the drawing routes and window manager;

You can move the window, resize the window, and click the various user interface items, buttons, tabs, hover buttons, scroller. It also demonstrates the font system, and has a basic isometric map being rendered in the ...

Logical Prevails surely; Why should I need to forewarn users about Avira and false positives...

Think about the Virus Total results, 2 out of 40 virus scanners throw up a alarm, and Im not using Avira, why should I be responsible for hilighting that your particular Virus scanner has high false ...

Re: Redimension in Structure? and more

Sorry, I must not be making myself clear...
Structure FontStruct
Array FontSprite.l(33 to 127)
Array Mask.a(0)
EndStructure

Dim f.FontStruct(255)
Dim f(26)\FontSprite(33)

Lower Boundary, meaning the first element in the array is 33 not 0. Is it possible to set a lower boundary in an array ...

Re: Redimension in Structure? and more

Ok thanks Trond. Still got these questions outstanding...

Is it possible to set a lower boundary on a array

With Trond's code above, does this redimension the entire FontStruct structure, or does PureBasic store this array as a pointer within FontStruct, thus only allocating the element being ...

Roller Coaster Tycoon Engine

Hi Guys,

Ive been working on a Roller Coaster Tycoon engine for a number of years now, Im from VB6 and made the decision to attempt to transition to PureBasic. My engine is in early development, and I decided to show one part of it.

I hope the forums can help me adjust to the PureBasic coding ...

Redimension in Structure? and more

Got a couple questions, Im transitioning from VB6 and getting adjusted to the coding style.

In VB, you could declare say...

Public Type FontStruct
FontSprite(33 To 127) As Long
Mask() As Byte
End Type

Public Font(255) as FontStruct

Now Im unsure about the FontStruct Structure, it has a static ...
