Re: Purebasic "class reunion"

From time to time, I pop in and see what is going on.

When my ex split back in 2010, my life had been turned upside down. Long story short, I had to leave my post doctoral fellowship, got a new job in the Pharmaceutical industry, and haven't looked back. Life really, really sucked for a while, but ...

Back After A Year

Just getting back to PB after a not so good year, and I have a few questions:

Was there any userlib functionality broken between 4.4-4.5, and/or 4.5-4.6?

It's a little weird getting back into all this, but what are the major things that are broken between 4.4 and 4.6? Thanks for your help guys ...

64 Bit Shell Extension

Hi all,

I have been playing with the examples of the shell extensions on the forums here, and they all apparently seem to fail when registering the DLL. I am using PB 4.5b3 x64 and compiling to an x64 DLL.

Basically, what I want to do is create a shell extension similar to ClipName. This ShellEx ...

Sticky or Subforum Specifically for *confirmed* user libs

Is it possible to have a subforum (or even just a sticky) dedicated to user libraries and which ones are *confirmed to work with* or compiled for a given version of PB?

Like have a PB 4.5x topic within the forum, and post *just the link to the lib or post* with a statement of confirmation that the ...

Re: Multicores CPU Graphic [Final version]

Great program! BTW, did you use my LEDgadget and graph source in this? If you modded the graph, its a good job and seems smoother compared to my last version. Can you post the modded source for that control, or was it a complete rewrite?

Re: FRED.... The GIF format, is finally FREEWARE :-)

GIF support is included in PureBasic, since Hagibaba finalized the GIF decoder routine. I then applied that to decode ALL images in a GIF sequence. I even wrote a custom GIF animation control on top of that. Netmaestro developed the 8-bit quantize procedure, which allows us to scale down an image to ...

Was there a need to recompile the libs? Most times I find that they don't require recompiling unless the userlib format changes.

I have PB 4.3 working perfectly, and I was just wondering if 4.4 would break any backward userlib compatibility?

Setting up a NAS Hard Drive for Home Network

I have a Maxtor 1TB network NAS hard drive plugged into my router as a backup storage space.

I use NetworkMagic to share folders, printers ect, so I am able to access any folder anywhere from my 2 workstations or laptop.

However, I can only access the NAS drive from the workstation that the lame ...

It actually is possible. There is a tool for the reverser community called Function Replacer 1.0 by Execution.

It replaces one DLL function with another, from entry point to return. So mapping a DLL function to memory is possible, because this tool does it and then realigns the DLL.

See, these two XFX Raedon HD 4870X2 in quad CrossfireX are just amazing. I have yet to have the Catalyst Control Center crash, and they destroy anything thrown at them.

However, I have no experience with the NVIDIA GTX 295s, and was just wondering how they stack up. They might be even better ...

But if money is no object and performance is king, go for the Intel i7s.

LOL. If money were no object, I'd wait and go with two AMD Opteron Barcelona 45 nm Quad core 3+ gHz. Add in 64 GB of ECC REG DDR3 2000 RAM along with 4 of the new and upcoming ATI 49XX series boards with stock clock speeds ...

The real question is, do you really need all that power and memory? Especially the lab computer. IMO it sounds more like a gaming rig than a lab computer.

The lab computer really does need that video power. The computer i am going to build for HOME will indeed be a gaming rig. That's why i am ...

I need CrossfireX or SLI to be able to connect in an Infrared camera and calcium imaging camera at the SAME TIME. I need like 1GB of frame buffer graphics memory to render the images on screen and capture the data stream. Also, ill probably be able to run Crysis at max everything at the same time ...
