Never had problems with apps written in Delphi, VB6, VB.Net, C#, C++ etc. on my work computer. I haven't tried BlitzBasic tho.

Re: Why I had to stop using PureBasic

I know a few people strongly opposed the notion of fixing something that is not broken. But PB is not Microsoft or any other big player therefore we have to play according to their rules. While it is possible to tell someone to uninstall completely or use a different AV it is a futile request. I don ...

Re: Why I had to stop using PureBasic

Well my story is as follow,

I had an idea to write a big (very complex) cad cam cnc program.
I decided to invest all my money (and time) in it.
Being a very small company, i took a very, very big risk.
I started with PB, as result of years of basic programming over the last 35 years.
Started with ...

Re: Why I had to stop using PureBasic

Symantec is horrible. Maybe we can get all of PB users to complain about Symantec's Heuristic check.
The only way I can make programs in PB is by disabling Symantec for 5 hours.
Like @Olby, I cannot change to a different antivirus provider.
@Olby I got a certificate from https://www.startcomca ...

They can definitely white-list by file and location.
Of course, the hash will change with any updates. Must be part of your delivery system, if you choose that extra layer of security. I prefer my app's are installed with an elevated installer and then no need to worry about a virus or a user ...

Re: Why I had to stop using PureBasic

I had to stop using anti-virus because of that. It marked a lot of programs as infected: aplications, games, "Hello World" compileds... at one point the situation was unbearable.
In windows I only have Defender, and will not install a anti-virus ever. But in a company that is impossible. The ...

Why I had to stop using PureBasic

Hi everyone,

Haven't wrote anything here for a long while... Just wanted to share my concerns with using PB as of lately. I've been programming in PB for about a decade now and had wrote a few big applications with it. As well as countless small plugins, utilities etc. However in the last year or ...

Re: StreetView Grabber (Updated v1.6)

Hi Olby,

I've tried to use a cylinder instead of a sphere for panorama images without sky and floor.

CreateCylinder(0, -2, 1, 32, 32, 1)
MoveCamera(0, 0, 0, 0.25, #PB_Absolute | #PB_Local)
CameraLookAt(0, 0, 0, 0)

But I did no see anything. Only when I move the camera outside...

Do you ...

Re: StreetView Grabber (Updated v1.6)

Is it possible to make it work from the web? I send the link and recieve the image in return?

No, not really. It's a desktop application and I don't have plans on converting it to a web service. I'm pretty sure someone else has done something similar, after all, street view extraction is a ...

Hey dige,

Hmmm I don't see anything obvious. Try posting this in the 3D programming, they might know why it does IMA.

Thanks.

Re: StreetView Grabber (Updated v1.6)

Hey,

For those of you who want to view standalone panorama images here's the code. Tested on 5.41LTS+. Once compiled just drag and drop the panorama files over the executable to view them. Needs Engine3D.dll in the same folder. Enjoy!

UseJPEGImageDecoder()
UsePNGImageDecoder ...

Re: ExtractJSONStructure() and list not initialized

Nvm. Answered my own question: InitializeStructure does not work with nested structures and I have to call it for each level. Therefore the list was not initialized.

Re: Fonts

Doesn't sound like a PB issue. Command window uses system settings. Here is a similar issue and and a fix:

ExtractJSONStructure() and list not initialized

Hi,

Recently I've been using JSON library pretty extensively and never had an issue with it until today when it stopped extracting a particular layout. Perhaps there is something I overlooked (hopefully) but I just can't seem to understand why foo\bar\a\a2() list is empty and in in fact is not ...

Re: PostEvent in DLL fails when procedure called from a thre

That seems like a good solution. So my guess was right each thread has its own event queue. Thanks, Danyfirex.
