MSYS2
Thanks!
Did you see other stuff like cygwin etc.? Is MSYS2 better?
I think it's good to have "unix" under your fingers…
I used MSYS2 to get clang and mingw64. But with winlibs I also get GCC, so I switched. Also had troubles with newer versions of MSYS2 on Win7. Only keeping MSYS2 for the ...

Re: Mike Shah's PureBasic - First Impression

Yes, someone could mention the C backend in the wiki, but there's still nothing about it in the help file. Especially how to set it up, which would confuse newbies even more. Same goes for Static Libs...

A couple years ago I made this script for Violentmonkey (Tampermonkey, etc). I don't know if I missed something, but it works well enough for me.

Anyway...
These YouTubers should first contact an experienced user to resolve any silly questions that they cannot resolve correctly on their own.
This would defeat the purpose of a first impression imho. Anyone new to a programming language might struggle with the same issues, and that's good ...

Re: Need Help Compiling 64-bit Version of FreeImage.dll (Unreleased 3.19)

Must have missed your post, sorry... I'm not that frequently around here anymore.

FreeImage-Sidecar was last updated 4 years ago, so it probably won't work with the unreleased version 3.19 I built for you last time. It also uses CMake and I've been using VS. Too much work for a project I'm quite ...

Mike Shah's PureBasic - First Impression

Another YT video about PB
PureBasic - First Impression [Programming Languages Episode 35]

It's a nice introduction to PB, but I wonder why there's no mention about the C backend on the Wiki page or the Help file (except "History")...

Re: Need Help Compiling 64-bit Version of FreeImage.dll (Unreleased 3.19)

Great! Thank you yery much chi 👍👍👍

How or with what did you create it?
Glad it works! I ended up using VS2019 and had to retarget the project to SDK 10.0.22621.0 and PTS v142 to get it to compile. v143 had too many errors. I also tried the makefile, but my MinGW is too new and I didn't feel like ...

Re: Need Help Compiling 64-bit Version of FreeImage.dll (Unreleased 3.19)

I only tested the release version with

Code: Select all

Import "FreeImage.lib"
  FreeImage_GetVersion()
EndImport

Debug PeekS(FreeImage_GetVersion(),-1, #PB_Ascii)
freeimage-svn-r1911-FreeImage-trunk.7z

Re: Editor Gadget cursor position

I don't know for which OS you need the code, but on Windows you do it like this: Procedure GetLineNr()
SendMessage_(GadgetID(0), #EM_GETSEL, @pos, 0)
ProcedureReturn SendMessage_(GadgetID(0), #EM_EXLINEFROMCHAR, 0, pos) + 1
EndProcedure

OpenWindow(0, 0, 0, 300, 200, "GetLineNr() EditorGadget ...

+1

I'd prefer some additional fields under Preferences/Editor/Coloring to set the Tab background and text color individually. This way we can load/save matching tab colors with the Color Schemes

I have very fond memories of playing both C&C Renegade and Vietcong online, or with a bunch of buddies over LAN. Great times!
