It wasn't spam.
I can see why he wouldn't want to come back here though, it does seem unwelcoming to newcomers (maybe even long time members too, when they disagree with the general opinion).

Re: Documentation of obsolete or considerably modified funct
Hi all, there is already a feature request for proper documentation of functions that do not exist anymore in the current PB version or that changed enough to break backwards compatibility . Fortunately, the documentation of some (all?) obsolete functions is still available on the internet. However...

Re: Workaround for bugs in NetworkClientEvent()
Thanks for your code DarkPlayer, I've mentioned this code before in a feature request somewhere so Fred could use it in the PB code and fix detection of disconnects but even though you've done the work and it's all there they haven't included it, maybe 10 more years and it'll be fixed?

Re: Can PureBASIC run on a Raspberry Pi? Looked everywhere
I hate Python, god awful looking syntax, and takes crap loads of coded to do what PB can do in about 8 lines. You're doing it wrong, try writing code instead of crapping it. Python code is just great so long as you're not relying on an arsehole to produce it. Python is really nice, and the fe...

How would it be able to tell if you are outputting an addition of two variables or numbers?
If PB had the string concatenation character like VBA "&" then maybe it'd be able to work.

Re: Direct Substrings allocation
Agreed. Maybe it would be better to use parenthesis for this feature in PureBasic? So strings are seen like array of characters and it is not mixed with the brackets like STARGÅTE's example. So if a string has parenthesis at the end, it is turned into functions Right, Left, Mid, Insert, Replace. Lo...

Re: PB not good for Windows Store?
in other words, "i'm Bill Gates , or i'm Microsoft , if you want to install or run your software on my Windows ? then you need to pay me a Fee " It's not heading in that direction for desktop apps but even if it was it's their right to do what they want with their product. Change your OS ...

Re: Direct Substrings allocation
Good idea. Maybe just too advanced and complicated for PureBasic. Most likely, I think I requested something like this before or at least mentioned it somewhere. It's a great thing about Python (where I learnt it from). Debug Example\String[3,] ; would return "FebMarAprMayJunJuiAugSepOctNovDec...

The new message is worse as now you have no specific detail as to why the command failed.

Re: Klein Bottle example
You could include the DX Runtime Web Installer Fred, it's much smaller.Fred wrote:Did you tried with 5.11 ? It shouldn't display this. But if you want the example work, you need to install directx, we can't ship it with PureBasic it's too big.
