Re: PB 6.40 Alpha 1 - Issue with referenced strings which are modified
It's the only function of the whole PB commandset to allow this and I don't think it's wise to keep it. It was done when computer were slow to gain a bit of speed, but now it doesn't worth it, as it can introduce bad overflow bugs.
I would be disappointed to see #PB_String_InPlace removed from ...

Re: PureBasic 6.40 alpha 1 is ready, surprise inside !
The change to string handling sounds similar to the old BSTR string type. Much faster to read records from a large SQLite database. Question: how is the length stored? Long? Quad? Another way? Does it limit the maximum length of a string?

Re: PureBasic 6.30 beta 5 is ready !
Thanks for the clue. I did some testing. It looks as if any console function anywhere in the code - even if the console itself is not opened and the function not actually used - running the code from the IDE opens the console window regardless. I have a little old program based on the Atomic Web ...

Re: PureBasic 6.30 beta 5 is ready !
Hi, I noticed this variation in PB 6.30 Beta 5. We have some historic code that used PrintN for debugging purposes when our application was under development and hadn't noticed it was still present. Under PB 6.20 and earlier, it didn't open a console window as #Testmode was false, but under 6.30 it ...
