I prefer to imagine how great and stable the 4.0 Linux & Mac versions of PB would be if Fred didn't waste his time working on 3D, which only a small handful of people will ever use :)
Look at the customer base for DBP and Blitz3D and I think you'll find they are both sizable for Indy languages ...

It has been some time ago, and my memory is a bit foggy because it has been so long, but I am almost certain that myself and a couple of other PB users showed an interest in 3impact and joined their forums hoping to get a PB compatible interface. However, to the best of my memory we were flamed ...

I see that Rav Singh in that last forum link you posted claimed that it could not be done due to PB's lacking DWORD... and values being passed got truncated... but that claim was somewhat refuted by another user, however I think because of this post people have drawn the conclusion that PB is ...

How's about changing/fixing whatever prevents 3impact from being used with PB? I own 3impact which I use with iBasic (which I don't care for all that much personally) and found it to be an excellent, affordable, full-featured engine. It plugs into iBasic and BMax so maybe that is something worth ...

There is merit in both arguments. It is a little tough to pick up a language like Purebasic or Blitz and "go back" to it's linear design after becoming familiar with OOP. If you have never really programmed in an OOP environment then you don't miss it. It's like if you have never taken drugs you don ...

Examples?

Hi,

Are there any examples using the new 3D engine in PB4? Physics, shadows and what not?

Thanks!

PB4 help file problem?

I just downloaded PB4 but when trying to use the help feature, it just displays "Page cannot be displayed" error on every item... ? I see the PureBasic.chm file is 1.1Mb so there must be some data in there somewhere. Anybody have any ideas?

Thanks
Steve

Agghh Atari! The only one true old-skool comp is the AMIGA! Let the the battle commence

Amiga Rules!

but...

Atari had their day in 8-bits... I still say Star Raiders is the best 8-bit computer game ever made on any system but I'm sure there are others who will disagree :)
