Re: Credible / Reliable DNS Service

I think we only want a secondary DNS server and my (actually your) suggestion to use google for DNS didn't win any fans (general thinking is that google might be too difficult to deal with)

Credible / Reliable DNS Service

Sorry this isn't a PB-related query...

Any recommendations for a credible & reliable DNS service that might be used - my ISP ObsidianNetworks seem to be uniquely capable of cocking up any and every change.
This is to support several addresses held at: www.topcat2.com / precisionlabels.com / happy ...

Re: Costco!

Like all Supermarkets and any *smart* retailer, they earned a lot of goodwill and positive publicity by effectively giving you something that they had already made well over 100% profit on. A small price to pay. If you want *proof* go see USA: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K7Pahd2X-eE or UK: https ...

Re: SpiderBasic 1.00 alpha 2

I had a brief play with SB - is it only possible to create *simulated window* apps within the Browser? If so, it kinda feels a bit odd. I think I would rather have a more *Web* look - or at least an option to create a *full screen* window that occupies the whole browser space without the window ...

Re: SpiderBasic 1.00 alpha

Just a thought: if SpiderBASIC is to be a Web Client, is there a good reason for a Server only version with all the GUI stuff stripped out with consistent Syntax for various Unix / Windows versions. I'm assuming that the major difficulty for porting PB to different platforms has been the differences ...

Re: SpiderBasic 1.00 alpha

I would ask you guys who are concerned about support for PureBasic to consider the larger picture. Fred is currently working fulltime on Fantaisie Software and no matter how many projects he takes on, trust me that's a good thing.

Netmaestro is absolutely right, though Fred may not (want to ...

Re: How to get a WebGadget to load a font resource?

You can use Google fonts if your App is internet connected:

<HEAD>
<LINK HREF='http://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Poller+One' REL='stylesheet' TYPE='text/css'>
<STYLE>
BODY { font-family: 'Poller One'; }

facebook is just a forum (like this one) but for people with no particular interests and nothing in particular to say.

"Facebook is where you lie to your friends. Twitter is where you're honest with complete strangers." - don't remember who said that

Anyway back to the original subject - wasn't ...

Re: NoiTunes - file manager with built-in FLAC -> MP3 conver

If ever there were a case for a PB-Community project, then this might be it. A great media player that is X-Platform would be a very good way to showcase PB and a constructive project for all concerned, there's lots of sample code snippets that could be incorporated without necessarily having to ...

You still use a bank that has fees? :shock: Try ING.

Sure I do, everybody does. All banks have fee's - they're crappy interest rates / arrangement fee's / payment protection fee's / charge for cash withdrawal / overdraft fee's / in this ...

Re: Contactless Cards - good / bad?

Ok - so in the event of a dispute, the bank takes the hit - <£20 is too little for them to bother investigating. But now the limit is £20 /transaction, so they put up their fees by 0.0001% to recover the loss - in the end the bank loses nothing, we pay.
