Re: Goodbye Ionic Wind...

The cross platform functionality is a big plus. Fortunately, I have bought PureBasic in the past and have worked with it a little. Like I said earlier, I am going to check out this forum and look at more example code and play around with PureBasic some more. The thing is, I own several Indie ...

If Paul is doing nothing illegal, then why be concerned?
It doesn't affect me in anyway but you certainly have it out for him.

Re: Goodbye Ionic Wind...

I will forward all info I have on Paul to my sister who works for the Internal Revenue Service as a manager. She can see this gets looked into.
Why is that necessary? Do you hate the guy that much? I have simply made the decision to move on which is what most of the EBasic\Aurora\Creative users ...

Re: Goodbye Ionic Wind...

I think Fred and Rings have the right idea. It's better to welcome EBasic and Creative users. I bet a lot of them will be looking for a new Indie language. My guess is the choices will either be PureBasic or PowerBasic depending on personal taste. I bought PureBasic a few years ago and have also ...

...and I will persue contacting Tom Hanlin and see if we can't sue the pants off of Paul.
For monetary loss? Tom lost all interest in Pyxia only a couple months after buying it. He also took money from people without sending the product (in this case the Gold CD.) I really don't think he would ...

Actually Aaron, Tom Hanlin was well known in the PowerBasic crowd and was a real person. He dropped the ball, not Paul.

I've already apologized to Paul a few days ago for the stupid things I posted and removed them and we're on good terms again. I think that particular day some tempers flared ...

I think the fear of a language no longer being supported is a valid fear but even MS eventually out dates their own stuff. Sometimes faster than anyone else. Take VB 6 for example, and I don't just mean the language itself, but for those who know VB they'll know MS has tried to push new technology ...

Deep down, every programmer is still a child and to a programmer the new compiler is just a new toy to play with. That's why we like to have them as many as possible. 8)
I guess it depends on the person

I'm a programmer both as a hobby and a profession, but I'm quite happy with the two compilers ...

Seems the big news was only him changing his business model to free software/paid-support-on-forums.

Well whats stopping people from NOT paying him 50 bucks a year, then to go and download his cluncky software
and get support on other forums like the codingmonkeys site?
Nothing and that's the ...

Do we all think that Paul will update freeware tools? He couldn't even do that when they where paid for. Personal i would steer clear of these languages now and advise people to do the same.
To be fair, EBasic has been updated and will be updated again shortly with ActiveX support, etc. He ...
