No, not at all.

Whether you program games, apps or utilities, it doesn't really matter. This is a Programmers meet no matter what language you use or what you actually code within your language of choice.

I'm really curious but would hate to travel up to Doncaster only to find there are 3 other guys there

I appreciate what you are saying here. In all honesty, we've surpassed that as we've now organised a good 4/5 of these.
