New release, new donation time!!

Post by maw »

Since I've made a habit of donating every time a new version is released I didn't want to ruin the record this time! So $100 donated! I dare anyone to outdonate me as usual

But honestly, it isn't the amount that matters, I bet Fred and the team appreciates the gesture just as much no matter if it's $5 or $500!!

So come on and donate and let them know we love them!! :D

I try to donate between $10.00 and $30.00 per version... IF I compile something in it to release...

Otherwise $5.00
Binarily speaking... it takes 10 to Tango!!!

And it's possible some people would just as soon keep their donations private.

cheers

Well, people that just got their license or simply can't afford it should ofcourse not even consider donating!! I know I wouldn't have when I hardly could afford my bills!

This thread is only intented to shame long time users with extra cach on their hands into donating a little, or more :D :D

Edit: rsts: Ofcourse, and that's perfectly ok!

I don't mind publicizing that I donated, what I keep private is the amount.

last time it almost turned into a flame war for some bizzare reason. Some thing about people feeling that people shouldn't donate but should buy extra licesnes or something...

(Sorry to bring it up again)

Personally I think donations are a good idea

And it's disappointing comments like that which make me wish these kinds of threads were deleted immediately. The number of replies to this thread will give no reliable indication of how many people have donated, will donate, can't afford to donate ...... but who nevertheless prefer to keep such matters private.

Publicise your own donation, if that is your wish, by all means; but please do not assume that silence means a refusal to show an appreciation for a great product, whether this is from a long term user or not and whether such appreciation is in the form of a monetary donation or some other form.

How much, for example, are netmeastro's or sparkies contributions to these formus worth to the rest of us and to the life of the Purebasic product itself? How much does Purebasic owe to the tenacity of Trond's bug finding powers? And these examples barely scratch the surface.

I am not trying to discourage donations at all, not a bit of it, just do not presume that some people need 'shaming' into showing their appreciation or indeed assume that they have not already made made some kind of gesture towards the upkeep of this product etc.

No offence intended.

Sigh.. You really need to lighten up! You are proving your signature false...

Where did I say the number of replies in any way reflected on the support of PB in any way? Monetary or otherwise? As for the shaming part, ever heard of humour? No? That shows.

All I did, and have done before, is trying to get people to donate! A little rally, as they say!! Because some might actually not think about doing it if the subject didn't come up every now and then! And some might actually just join in because of the challenge :D

I can't imagine why you would chose to take such offence by it that you want the thread deleted on sight and turn the thread negative? But hey, whatever makes your day I guess...
