PureBasic 4.10 final released (all OS!)

Post by freak »

Hey there everybody,

finally, its final time... 8)
4th November 2007 : Version 4.10

- Added: XML library
- Added: Drag & Drop library
- Added: Vista compatibility (fully comptiable with UAC), except for Sprite library (planned for 4.20)
- Added: ModPlug support for module replaying (removed MIDAS)
- Added: ScintillaGadget(), TruncateFile()
- Added: EnableASM and DisableASM compiler directives
- Added: #PB_OS_Windows_Vista and #PB_OS_Windows_Server_2008 for OSVersion()
- Added: Lots of new fetaures for the WebGadget()
- Added: many new small improvement to the IDE (New compiler communication protocol, Vista compliance, brace markers, faster coloring etc.)
- Added: synchronized release between Windows, Linux and MacOS X !

- Changed: InitDatabase() to UseODBCDatabase()
- Changed: On Windows the IDE and PB tools preferences are now stored in the user applicationdata folder

- Removed: The SmartUpdate tool is no longer supported

- Fixed: lots of bugs related to the commands and compiler
... and yes, we know it is not the 4th of November anymore, but thats when we started.
It just took a little longer than expected :P

This is the first release of all 3 OS at the same time. We plan to keep it this
way (atleast for final releases) in the future.

We would like to thank everyone who helped with this version by reporting bugs
and giving feedback and we hope you enjoy this new version.
If one or the other bug did not get fixed in time for this release we are sorry for that,
but don't worry, we are not stopping improvements or bugfixes just because the final is out.
This is an ongoing development.

On to the next version then...

As was announced already previously DX9 support is next on the list, but we
also have many surprises in store for the next version (some already finished),
so wait and see... :D

Have fun!

The PureBasic Team

Should i reply here having an issue?

1) First a non-issue but a full instal over an existing (4.00 afaik) seems to have conflicting libraries.
I guess older and newer libs are present.
(whatever, i de-installed removed the left-overs and reinstalled)

2) Is the DLL mode still working??
I can't seem to compile to dll, might be me:

23:48:49 PureBasic_Compi:2952 READ C:\DOCUMENTS AND SETTINGS\EDWIN KNOPPERT\LOCAL SETTINGS\TEMP\PUREBASIC_COMPILATION0.EXE SUCCESS Offset: 99840 Length: 31232

While i actually have set the Shared DLL radio.
??

Added:
I just checked but the PureBasic_Compilation0.exe is 128kb.
When i compile the same project to exe it's only 20kb.
