I'm more than willing to do that - the competition doesn't start untill July.
Edit:
...so we have more than enough time to get a team organised.

I'm having a "can't see for looking" day.
What sort of the program(s) would qualify as entries?
Thanks!

Every year they set a different challenge, there's been a real mix of things they've asked for. They won't release details untill July 20th.

I like the idea of doing this as a forum team project, we have a much higher chance of winning. But if we were to do that, everyone would have to know each other no? I think its best we start setting up a team now so we can all get to know each other, you can work in a team and make a decision as to who does what etc if we dont know each others strengths and weaknesses or if we have no idea who each other is can we?

We could all post here with our msn/yahoo/gtalk/skype contacts and once we have decided who will be in the team, we could all meet up and have a conferance to start with, so well all know each other. Then we could use the next few weeks to get to know each other?

Doesn't participation require traveling to the site of the contest?

No... AFAIK only the winners (Fred in our case) would have to travel...
