PureBasic - A Beginner's Guide To Computer Programming

After much consideration i've decided to release my book under a creative commons license.

Many people have been emailing me asking me to do either an update to the text or release what i have, so i'm releasing it. I consider this project to be a complete success, as i have distributed a lot more copies than i ever thought i would and i have never heard anything bad said about it. I have also made a lot of money from it too.

I would love to spend more time updating this work and translating it to other languages. Offering it like this i hope others will pick up the baton and do what i don't have time for. I would love to see this book updated to the current version of PureBasic and also translated to other languages, especially German. I have had a lot of feedback wanting a German version. Maybe someone could also port it to the Open Office suite using the auto contents generation and auto indexing of Open Office Writer.

I have taken a lot from the PureBasic community, so i feel the need to give something back. So here it is, my book.

This is great news. Thanks a lot, Kale!
In the last week or so, I've read several pages of your book on Google Books, and I have to say that the text that I read was very sound and well written.

I'm also saying thanks in the name of Vera, who is rather new to PureBasic. So she has been interested in your book, and is now very happy about this Easter surprise. :D

Thank you!

Regards, Little John

Kale, am I allowed to take parts of it and integrate them with the Survival Guide? (Of course with proper markings and mentioning of the source.)

(Heh, it's end 2009 and I didn't even read it yet :-))

Many Thanks Kale,

I love books like this, easy to read, clear and concise, just like the sams teach yourself books.
