At the same time, i will start a litle Contest about Living-Code.
Rules:
In the first Living code Contest we search for the strongest organism.
The creature should succeed in the direct fight against the other participating creatures.
There should/must be no consideration for the opponent. However it does not matter, how your creature defeats the others.
The creatures could e.g. use DNA injections, absorb energy, infection with viruses, displace the opponents by reproduction or simply live longer as the others. There are no restrictions there.
Each participant may deliver maximally 2 organisms. The closing date is the 01/22/09.
Creatures which use cheating functions are not allowed!
The creature may not have been published before.
Renaming of already existing organisms (e.g. the creatures, which are included in the package) is also not permitted.
How does the evaluation run-off?
All creatures are inserted at the same time (through the new INSERT function).
If there are more than 20 participants, the INSERT function will be extended for this case.
For the evaluation, the gaming mode (Windows) with the default settings is used.
The map starts with 30.000.000 food units (this is the same as using a value of 5000 for the "add food" function).
Each organism receives 80,000 and for each cell additional 100 energy units as initial value.
One round takes at most 20 minutes (one creature remains at least alive).
Afterwards each participant receives a point, if his creature is still alive.
Creatures of same participants are rated separately. Altogether 10 rounds are accomplished.
At the end the creature with the most points wins.
If several creatures have the same points, a further round is accomplished, until only one creature is remaining.
Unfortunately, I cannot offer a price to the winner except a special rank in my forum (
http://www.RocketRider.eu).
Therefore it is only a matter of honor.
All contributing organisms will be included in the next Living code package.
