awesome! are they human-translated though? sometimes Google Translate results in embarrassing errors which would give our app a cheap unprofessional look

Hi Keya

The German and French are as provided in the posts above. The rest are just machine translations. What I am aiming for is to get these language files out first for all PB users who can then help with translations etc. So I see these as just a start and as more information is gathered we could have a whole series of language files reviewed by our peers on this forum.

I am about a day away from releasing the first maintenance programme for the standard\common words files. I am just running through making a chinese(simplified) language file and when done will post.

I have thought about starting a new Topic just for translations etc or maybe suggest a whole new area for translations need more thoughts first though.

Maintaining the language files.

This is a small multilingual programme to maintain the main or default language files.

Download and unzip. This is a folder containing the PB project and programme files plus flag icons, word files and language files.

The files in the folder "Language Files" are the default basic language files. these are the files you are maintaining.

The icons in the "Flags" folder are 16X16 flag icons as .png files.

The files in the "Word Lists" folder are simple text file lists of words in the four categories so far defined. These are for information only.

The "Resources" folder is for the programme to run correctly. The language files here are specific to this programme.

Simply compile and run the programme. You will be prompted to select a language, this will be the language the programme will use for its interface. After selecting a language the programme will start. Then simply select a category from the left combo. Once selected all the words in that category are available. the navigation buttons below the phrase allow you to navigate through the phrases in that category. The right hand combo is used to select the languguge the phrase is translated into. These can be selected at any time and the translation of the phrase on the left is then shown on the right.

If the translated phrase is incorrect or could be better simply type in the new phrase in the selected language and click the save button. This will save the new phrase translation in the selected language.

These are almost all mechanical translations so any and all translations from forum members are invited and welcomed for all the phrases in the files. Further additions to the word lists are also invited I will add these when seen. Ideas for further categories are also welcomed. These will all be for the benefit of all Pure Basic programmers.
