530 - IDE flashes when tools panel auto hides

Post by luis »

Window 7 x64

You need to have Preferences -> Editor -> Display multiple rows [X]

In PB 5.21 when the tools panel auto hides itself all is well.

In PB 5.30, every time there is a fast white flash like a window being shown and quickly hidden.

This happens ONLY if I have enough tabs open to fill the space up to the area where the tools panel is shown.

Example:

If I have just three tabs, there is still a lot of space before the tabs reach the right area where the tools panel is.

If I open a lot of tabs, enough for them to be splitted in two rows when the tools panel is shown, then when the panel hides itself the window flashes.

I imagine this is one of those things behaving differently on different systems, but on mine it does that and only from 5.30.

Maybe it has something to do with the new containers which made their appearance in this version -> http://www.purebasic.fr/english/viewtop ... 99#p449399 ?
"Have you tried turning it off and on again ?"

Same here. It happens with 1 to any amount of tabs, when the toolpanel automatically snaps back.

It doesnt happen when the Ide lost focus once while the panel is snapped out.

For example let the toolpanel snap out. move the mouse away from the panel while it is there (eg. minimize the ide or click the taskbar). now let the ide gain focus again. click on it or whatelse. the panel will snap back without that white flash.

Edit:

Sorry to say that now its completely random for me. sometime it flashes sometimes it doesnt. cant find a pattern.
