GIF why not?

Post by minimy »

Hello and greetings to all the forum!!
PureBasic is the best tool to make practically any thing. I think! :D
But why no accept GIF files?, is a graphic format so comun like BMP or JPG. :?:

I Know the excelent libs make for the people in the forum, but not is PB native.

In nexts issues may be PB have native libs for decode and code GIFs?

Is the gif format still popular? I think it might have had it's day. I used it a lot years ago, now I hardly ever use it - in Skype/QQ etc it's still used but where else is it preferred to other formats these days?

If it sounds simple, you have not grasped the complexity.

For animated image exclusively yes, it's certainly the format most used.

There are superior alternatives like

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/APNG

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Multiple-i ... k_Graphics

but for some reason GIFs still dominates.

It wasn't free until recent times, so it was never added.
I compile using 5.31 (x86) on Win 7 Ultimate (64-bit).

To be fair, "recent times" means 2006...
If any of you native English speakers have any suggestions for the above text, please let me know (via PM). Thanks!

Thanks Master, i'm your servant 8)

I'm just the jester of the forum, to give a little bit of humor, pleasure or little smile at all the kinds members, who give to me, so much things all the year...

ImageImage

The GIF is my life...i love them...i found it's the better graphical thing created at the begining.
I think also, never it is replaced because with some ko a real animation move before your eyes.
Obviously the 3D and other amazing things come after but the little GIF continue to marvel the WEB and other applications 8)
And the little GIF know also to be 3D..
The last GIF is really splendid

MINIMY have right, and numerous members of the forum have the same advice.
It's when even sad that PB not have his GIF Decoder.
The splendid code of the members to manage GIF not replace a real encoder/decoder because we not can use in memory, etc...like the PNG, JPG

Even after several thread about this subject, and all the new members who come to PB and see this problem...the years pass..and KCC and defender of the GIF see nothing coming :(
That remember me the return of line (So much required..and come after a very long time) :(

So it's not for that, we don't love our incredible FRED and his team... 8)
And you see..the GIF world have no rancor against the team...
You want a proof ??

This the last present, KCC have bring back from the merveillous world of the GIF : :D

I was expecting eye searing animation from KCC, the master of the burnt eyeballs but nothing happened in Firefox?

No. But it's just as well. KCC's images have a tendency to disturb my sleep for months on end.

The big pic of the team isn't animated (it's a JPG).
