The future? Good Vs bad.

Post by DK_PETER »

Science and technology has never scared me in the grand scheme of things.
I've always seen it as the 'liberation of man' - the possibility to live, love, learn and explore - if we somehow can get past our ancient ideologies.
But, as bright as the future might seem to us - it can suddently take a drastic turn to det darkside, if we're not extremely carefull.

The first two clips are somewhat disturbing:
There a no poor people, everyone is happy and only stereotypes exists.
Nobody is alone and you're constantly surrounded by tech 24/7.
All available soon - on a small planet called Dystopia 1.0.

I wouldn't stress much about it.

I wouldn't stress too much about it, too. We will die, anyway. The only thing which is extremely interesting for me - to know the meaning, essence and creator(s) of this reality. Quantum physics is developing very fast, so, there is a small hope :)

Don't ask me how I know but the only cool stuff you'll see in the next hundred years will come from meta materials. Like invisibility cloaks which already exist and are even trademarked..

They can make different types of engines and solar-panels exponentially efficient. This is the stuff that will come soon. It'll mean better clean energy, expanded human space travel without even fixing the gravity problem, better fuel economy and emissions etc..

Class 4 automated vehicles and flying cars are much later if at all. Quantum computers and optical buses will make some forms of manufacturing and computer exponentially efficient; maybe better simulation and compression algorithms as a result like the ability to use PAQ compression like you currently do RAR and 7zip.
The truth hurts.

Maybe too small to hope on it ^_^ I'd also like to know "What's behind universe?" and similar things, but really looks like those questions will be never answered. I don't know if there is a word to describe how large are the time and space. This planet and all what happened or will happen over billions of years within solar system is something like nothing, and if sci-fi will not become reality once more (with something allowing to jump over those endless light years), that all is really hopeless.

What about humanity and it's meaning it's at least simpler and already many things answered or almost answered. Anyway future is hard to predict nowadays, world became too large and complex and "too many ppl making too many problems". Just looks like technical singularity finally going to occur and then lead to "unforeseen consequences", maybe those with nuclear fireworks due to trivial ideological conflicts
