I'll comment: it appears that Dropbox don't truly delete your files when you ask, but keep them forever. Don't trust cloud services, people! This issue is all over Reddit, too.

remember the cheating website Ashley Madison, they had the option for members to PAY $25 or whatever to have their accounts deleted. But as hackers found out, the owners idea of "Deleting" = setting flag "Deleted=True" and leaving the data!

A bug was preventing some files and folders from being fully deleted
Why do I have to grin after reading this justification? It is now the standard statement. It is always a "bug". After the companies have announced that the "bug" is fixed, all are happy again.

It must be assumed that everything published on the Internet can no longer be completely erased. If it is deleted from the server, it can be assumed that there are people who have already spread the data (other servers, smartphones, USB sticks, etc.).

Dropbox is working together with NSA. That's their business! So what did you expect?
