I hate Bush and politics of the USA
yes, you have read right! However, when someone like saddam did bad extrem bad things... the usa and bush politics dont have the right to kill this person! If so, the USA is nothing better as saddam... I really dislike what happens with saddam and all the other politics action with USA... The USA think they are the world-police... but surly this isnt right... I wish, someone show the USA that they are not god over this planet...

I agree 100 % with Va!n, this is a politic of interference (ingérence in french, don't know it this is the good word in english), what allow them to do the politic of another country ?
I hate Saddam and i am very good placed to say it ... the Bush's government says that they killed a killer but what happens in the North Korea ?
There is by far much persons killed in any country all around the world but the US government did nothing even when the North Korea launched missile with nuclear warhead ...
Btw, G.W. Bush is just Paul Wolvowitch's toy who said to him to go in Irak before the 911 ...

The trial was a rather unique situation to be sure. The end result was just, imho he deserved his fate, as he ruthlessly murdered anyone who dissented when he had power. But no-one can look at the trial and call it fair. His lawyers received constant death threats, regularly boycotted the proceedings in response to egregious decisions taken by the bench that were blatantly partisan, and when the judge in the case merely agreed with Saddam when he said that Iraq was more peaceful under him than it is now, he was immediately replaced. The trial was A JOKE. But - for all that, the end was just.
BERESHEIT
No country has all the answers, that said. We need to learn to not judge the country of others by its leaders. Because often times the leaders are carefully "groomed" for succession into such positions of powers. At the highest levels they have all been exposed to the political checks & balances (though one may argue on how pure those checks & balances are) that has taken place for now hundreds of years. So, when we go vote we are really voting for a "Pepsi" or "Coke" style setup. We may want "Jim Bob" from down the road because we know him to be honest, reliable, and truly for the people, putting aside his religious and personal view points for the greater good of the masses. But, in the end the Pepsi or Coke always gets the spot.
Not complaining... that's just the way the system works.
As far as hanging... we in the USA have not had a sanctioned hanging since, I believe, 1936. There are a couple states that still allow for such legally, but the outrage would surely stop such before it even was seriously considered.
Other countries, like IRAQ as we just saw, still uphold such as a capital punishment.
Also, the USA captured but did NOT prosecute Sadam.
In the end it's easy to misplace one's anger, rage, aggitation, been there myself, but that is not how we all make sensible decisions and come to conclusions based on fact and understanding.
My personal views?
I can't stand religion, god belief. Time and time again I see it leading conflict overtly and covertly and that just sucks. No one in their right mind wants violence, people going unfed, or unhappy masses of people on any level.
Maybe one day these PB forum words will be consumed and lived by. Till then I will just wait for the next Major version of PB.

Hmm as a European and esepcially as a German I must say that death penalty just contradicts with human rights and demorcracy. Whatever someone did sentencing him/her to death brings the judge on the level of the subject. For me there are only 2 types of murder, either you kill someone to protect yourself or someone else in a situation where you don't have any other possibilitys , or you kill someone without directly saving somone else. In the second case for me it doesn't matter wether you are backed up by law or not. History has shown that murderers backed up by law are no better than any other murderer, wether this is a SS soldier, Freißler, some Iraqi Judge or an American judge doesn't matter they are all backed up by the laws of their time but they are murderers nevertheless.
This said I'm realy disappointed that the Iraq war did miss the chance to form a new constituional state but only changed the power from some damn dictator to some damn dictators, which we need to support because the USA are just to powerfull to be shown what they can and can't do.
->This text shell not insult any Americans willing to respect human rights.

I'm an American and I'm not offended. I know things in my country and those around the world have some serious improvement to do. Just like us writing code, constantly adjusting, tweaking, debugging.
In my business I have had people from Saudi Arabia, Germany, France, Canada, America, and several other countries. I strive to treat each equal, with respect and patience. It goes much farther than acting cocky or as a know-it-all. No one I have met wants to be around someone like that.
You know what's good. We are here from different countries and usually we get along and work out our problems. How much the statesman/woman could learn from just a few hours of watching how forums like this work out problems.

They didn't. He was only captured by the USA. It was Iraq that put him on
trial and sentenced him to death.

That's definetly right. It's always important to treat people with least prejudices possible. (Though I think that stereotypes are often true, which doesn't mean they are bad it only shows that alll cultures are different, and I think you have to know that so you can take advantage out of it. I think it's good that not everyone is the same and thats good as long as everyone is equally human)
I als think you are right in that many Internet communitys are pritty modern in that the combine the force of many people from all over the world using the talents of everyone. I think OpenSource is another good example of that.
