BLENDER - OGRE mesh convertion

Post by marc_256 »

Hi to all,

I started to learn OGRE 3D control.
My first step is to import a 3D mesh in OGRE format.

1) I downloaded and installed Blender 2.49
2) I installed the Blender to Ogre3d exporter
3) I made a very simple drawing in Blender
4) I exported to FileName.mesh.xml
5) Via OGRE XML Converter I converted to FileName.mesh
6) I started PB and loaded a ogre test program (Who works fine)
7) I replaced the old LoadMesh(File1.mesh) with my File.mesh
8) get error that the mesh is not valid

When I opened the old.mesh and my.mesh files via PBexplorer
There is a difference in the header 1.30 and 1.41

What can be wrong ??

Thanks,
Marc

Just sounds like a newer version of the mesh format. You'll have to find an older exporter that works with PureBasic. Or wait for PureBasic to be updated. I use Milkshape3D which works fine. But then again, I haven't downloaded the lastest exporter for it. If it even has been updated. Hope that helps.

No problem. And I'm not sure if having the older commandline tool will be needed. But here you go...

Yes, I needed them to,
especially the OgreXMLConverter

I just did my first (small) 3D entry in PB.
