Done. Unfortunately it didn't went well at all, the Ubuntu update process from 8.04 LTS to 10.04 LTS just failed and the remote computer never rebooted. I did a new clean install of debian 6 and reinstalled all the backups, and believe or not, but it seems to work
.
I just re-enabled the english forum for now, so if you find something wierd, just tell. I will re-open the german and french forum later in the day.

Re: Forums will be down on Wednesday
I have to admit - since Ubuntu 10.04 was released, I fell out with Ubuntu. The "it just works" policy no longer "just works".
Indeed after preaching Ubuntu to the world and destroying people's machines, it was a switch to Debian. Which, curiously enough, "just works"...

Maybe some links are not up yet:
The requested URL /dynamiclinks/PureBasic_4.61_beta_1_x86_(xxxxxx).dmg was not found on this server.
Happens to all links I click in the download section.

Just did the same thing a few days ago from 8.04 to 10.04. I had to install all the latest updates on 8.04 before it would properly install 10.04. Maybe you did, I dunno.Fred wrote:Done. On server side, a real Debian is always better than Ubuntu
(and even on a workstation since Ubuntu 11.10 and its forced @!#&! Unity desktop)
You should try Debian "Testing" on workstations, it has amazingly improved these last months.

Fred, do you plan also to update the forum software?
I would be very happy, if I could access the forum via the smartphone-app called "Tapatalk".
You only need to implement an plugin into the forum installation.
The tapatalk-plugin is free (http://www.tapatalk.com/pricing.php) and you only have to activate it once.

What's wrong with accessing it via a browser on your smartphone? Works fine for me with Opera Mini.kurzer wrote:I would be very happy, if I could access the forum via the smartphone-app called "Tapatalk".
Microsoft Visual Basic only lasted 7 short years: 1991 to 1998.
