PureBasic - A Beginner's Guide : Free to download and adapt!
Just to keep you informed about the progress of the german translation:
At the moment we've got four active Translators (and many helpers).
To be honest, the only text that's completely done right now is the "Inside Front Cover" text, but the preface and chapter one to three are in the works and things are going quite well.
I'm a bit curious about if there are already some other translation projects (e.g. french). You know, competitors can make people trying to be the better/faster ones.

Thanks Kale. I was sometimes wondering what the "upgrade price" of the downloadable book would be for the future when PB versions move ahead. Guess I know now
I'm not sure if this is a question for Kale or the community as a whole.
If we want to add content is that possible within the license and how will it be controlled?

If you want to add content and release it back to the community you can but it must be under the same license as the work it was derived from. As for controlling it, maybe a source control management system could work such as SVN.pdwyer wrote:If we want to add content is that possible within the license and how will it be controlled?

Yeah I know, but keep in mind ... Leonardo da Vinci was also an autodidact.

Re: PureBasic - A Beginner's Guide : Free to download and adapt!
Hallo!
I have found the reference to the book with the title
"PureBasic - A Beginner's Guide: Free to download and adapt", with a note that it should be translated into German. Well as it so happens, I am a writer and not a programmer, but am developing my own translation model, for translating my own texts from English to German.
For a set of reasons, I am not so certain about, I have almost decided to try and automate my model, programming it or parts of it, in PureBasic.
Anyone interested in what I am doing and has
1. programs related to SQLite or other simple databases which I can use with the dictionary and
2. the use of rtf tables in PB and
3. transferring PB programs to HTML etc,.
This last comments refer to my need to have the model both operational on my desktop and subsequently on a website, to be downloaded by others.
I would like to hear from.
I will today download the book, and hope that the author hears of this "cry" and is interested in getting me involved, or getting involved with my project and offer.
So now you have it.
I am English and live in Germany. I do my writing on German themes in English and need to get the texts translated into German; hence my translation model activity.
Regards, forkinpm

Thank you very much Kyle,
I bought your book moths ago, which was more than worth ... and I not only was impressed by your knowledge, but also of your clear expression. I think, no translation in another language could be better.
